Re: how do i cut down my bow rail
We had an ,89 Bayliner Capri and the bow rail was just in the wrong spot when cruising around. It blocked my view at a critical spot. I was always stretching my neck to look and be sure no one was in our path. I lowered the bow rail quite easily. All of the joints were slip joints locked in place with a set screw. Just shorten the angled uprights, slide the top fitting so the upright fits easily in the deck fitting and tighten, repeat at all fittings. Well it's not quite that easy but you get the idea. It can be done and it will look good when done too. And I agree, when lowered it does give it a sportier look.
