On a 30hp, I would just use a fuel pump and bypass cover from the later 28's Those should be easy to obtain.

I am almost sure that I saw your boat for sale on ebay a while back. The seller was offering the boat with or without the motors if I remember. If this is the same boat, I would absolutely keep the motors that came with it, as they looked very sweet in the listing. If I lived anywhere near Mystic, I would have bought the boat.

That is ridiculous!!! Let's see if it's still running in 50+ years. Good luck trying to work on it yourself either, never mid fact that it's completely ordinary looking. to boot. You should be able to get a fuel pump right here at iboats. Most folks like Mikuni brand, but I think there are others. They're not the cheapest things in the world (approx. $65), but they work and look just like stock and should give you great peace of mind.

1962 28hp fuel pump and bypass cover. It looks factory and easy to mount.

I agree with staying factory looking, but have used Mikunis before as well, especially on the 5.5s

They are actually much cheaper than you think KFA, about 20 bucks.

The Briggs Stratton are cheaper yet, around 15 bucks, but I think a little bigger and harder to mount in my opinion.

Finding a factory bypass cover and pump will be around the $60 mark, used. Unless you or a friend have a parts motor.

Sweet! I know the Briggs and Stratton pumps are fairly inexpensive, but where do you get the Mikuni-style pumps so cheap ($20ish vs. $60ish)? Thankfully, I haven't had to buy one (yet), but when I look at them I only find them for the approx. the same price as the one below. Thanks Vice Admiral.

the Mikuni is used in expensive radio controlled planes. Not a cheap pump and I have used the singles on motors up to 35 hp.
