How Do I Determine The Make/Model of my Engine?

I just got an old boat and motor from my daughter. Someone had given it to her and she wanted to get rid of it so I took it. The boat is a Sears fiberglass game fisher. She was told that the motor is a 2.5 HP air cooled but they didn't mention the make. I can't find anything on the engine which indicates what it is.

The cowling looks like someone has added a bunch of nascar type stickers. It has 2 large Penzoil stickers front and back. One odd thing that I did find that questions my assumption is that it has a sticker for AER Mfg, Inc. I also found that name stamped on the engine housing. The only other thing I can find is the characters "MT65B" also stamped on the engine.

I'd like to try to find a maint manual for this engine if possible. I would appreciate it if someone could help suggest some places I could search for information. I tried various Google searches and got nothing.

Thanks,

post some pictures of it. could be one of the old gamefisher sears sold that were built my many companies over the years. i have an air cooled that was built by tecumseth. it's probably basically a lawn mower engine, attached to a drive system, being air cooled.
