I just bought a 1966 Evinrude 40hp that came with a prop [the older pin drive type] that is in good shape but appears to have shifted on the hub. the pin is tight to the hub almost capturing it . I did manage to remove it from the motor and was wondering if it can be repaired at home, and if it worth repairing it. I hate to toss it if it is salvageable . I am unsure as to how they were assembled . can I just push the center back in place, or were they glued in ?

There is a rubber hub, and it must have shifted. The is supposed to be a washer on the prop right in front of the pin. It was to prevent from moving enough to prevent pin removal

sooo, can I press it back out, or are they glued in? maybe put it in boiling water first to heat it slightly , say a small prayer to the prop gods for guidance .
