Re: How Do I Remove Outboard Off The Beach
Yes you do, Wind dog.
A part time retired resident here discovered the boat first. He reported it to the authorities. A Sheriff gave me permission to remove her from the beach and secure her for fourteen days. This feller watched us remove all the hardware, gauges, and the outboard. After the outboard was removed, he called the Sheriff to report us taking "his" claim on the boat. This guy has never owned a boat and figured this was his chance. We tried working with him on this matter. We explained if this vessel remains through another high tide, he won't be able to salvage a darn thing. His greed got in the way. He wanted everything returned to the boat.
Two of us spent several hours on this project with no gaurantee we would get anything from it....except satisfaction. I guess I will never understand greedy people.
So let me see if I have this right, "derelict boat shows up in the surf, you guys "rescue" the OB, regulations say you can't. They make you put the OB back out into the surf? Did I get that right?
