Well not really all,
Then you have to put it back together and check the dwell with a dwell meter to get it adjusted into spec.
A feeler gauge is just to get you in the ball park to get the engine started to use the dwell meter to get it right.
You can use the starter to crank the engine and check the dwell without it running, it better than a feeler gauge, but its not as good as having it running.
ok thanks guys i didnt realize it was the cam that was oval that opened and closed point. dont have a dwell meter but should be able to set them good with feeler guage the motor is a 63' 28hp. i actuall just eyeballed the points when i set them and the morot is running now
