How do I set the timing on a 75hp Chrysler?

I have posted before and have received great advice and I thought I would post again. I have a 1974 75 hp Chrysler that does not have any type of timing mark or decal on the flywheel (that I am aware of). What is the best way to set the timing on this? Can a timing light be used? Thanks. :)

Speed...your first step would be to find tdc on the top cylinder (#1) and mark it on the flywheel where the pointer is (normally the pointer is directly over the intake manifold). If you lhave no pointer you need to fashilon one. At this point if you have a manual that covers Chrysler outboards it will cover the rest of the procedure. If you don't have access to one let me know if you have points or sensor in your distributor and I will look it up for you...just a Thought
