How do I tell if my old BigTwin is electric or manual shift?

Any tell tale signs which I may have? Its a 1965 Bigtwin 40 HP. Depending which I have, Which gear oil should I use? Thanks.

1965 Big Twin 40 hp motors had mechanical gearcases using high viscosity oil.

The 1965 Lark 40HP motors had either elecric shift or mechanical, depending on the model.

Electric shift models had push button switches to shift.

And mechanical shift's have the shift lever on the starboard side protruding out the side of the engine. Electric shifts do not have anything there.
