I was on searching the forums a couple days ago and came across a link to a diagram that detailed all of the points where the mercruiser alpha one 3.0 is grounded. I have been searching here for at least a couple of hours and I had to give in and ask for help. I cant sit here anymore, my back is killing me. I am not sure if the link was specifically for that particular setup or if it included others, but if somebody has a link to it or a similar site, I would be grateful. I looked at the stickies at the top of the page and downloaded the #14 manual and came up empty.
Thanks, Mike.

Re: How do I verify system is grounded?

Are you referring to the grounds for the electrical system on the engine, or the bonding (continuity grounds) for the outdrive?
What year is your setup. That manual is for an Alpha I Gen II outdrive, is that what you have?

I am referring to the bonding for the outdrive, however if you have anything for the electrical system that would be great too. It is a 1994 and I do believe that is the proper manual. I do not own this boat, but I am trying to get it started before I buy it. I believe I am getting a good deal on it and feel it is worth a little effort. I am also learning a lot about it in the process and that will help me in the future whether I buy this boat or a different one. Thanks.

As far as electrical goes, subtle hints can let you know if it's not grounded properly. Things like the starter engaging when you press the horn comes to mind! Happened to me when I did the 1989 engine transplant into my 69 StarCraft(avatar). All's good now. :)
