Here is an entire email I received a few days ago.
There was no letter head, nothing, just the text as it is pasted here.
Attention:Esteemed Contractor
Dear Sir,
AVAILABLE CONTRACTS PROJECTS
Attention: The Managing Director/ Project Manager,
My name is Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Senate Committee Chairman Local & Foreign Debts Reconciliation. We came in contact with your profile through Embassy while looking for a Viable Construction Company that can handle our construct Projects.
In view of this development, after the meeting with the President (Dr. Good luck Jonathan) the Ministry of Finance (Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala) and also the Works Minister, they agreed that i should contact you for a mutual contract relationship.
However, We want to be assured that your company will give us quality service and also accept to employ some Skilled worker and Unskilled Laborers in our City when the Project is Awarded to you
Congratulations in advance
Regards
Senator Hope Uzodinma
No Phone number or anything. I didn't reply to the email address, which is:
Contract Committee [asnovoa@cruzycia.cl]
A quick google of the "senator" shows some fraud implications in his home country of Nigeria, but is an actual person, senator in fact. I've certainly never looked for any work that would involve him, or any "contracting" work he may or may not have. I checked the Dept of labor and Industry's website. They are in charge of my contractors license, but they don't appear to post my email address. Same with The sec of state where my business name is recorded.
Anyone see anything like this in their line of work?? Kind of creepy.
