How do you adjust Play at the Steering wheel of a Maxum 2700SCR?

How do you adjust Play at the Steering wheel of a Maxum 2700SCR? Believe it's a Rack & Pinion set up. I don't have any play at the out-drive but have quite a bit of play (Seems to be about 4-5 Inches of play) at the Steering wheel itself before it starts turning the out-drive. Any help would be much appreciated!

Ayuh,....... Welcome Aboard,...... There is no slack adjustments,....

Ya find exactly where the slack is, then replace that item,....

Could be the helm, could be the cable, could be a combination of both,.....

Thanks Bondo, I appreciate the info! Right now I would have to say the play is all at the helm in the Steering Wheel. I can turn the steering Port & Starboard about 4-5 inches before it will start turning the out-drive. I read somewhere that the Tilt Wheel option can be the culprit, what's your thoughts on that and how hard is that to replace?

Ayuh,.... Never been under the dash of yer boat,... Donno,....
ain't messed with a tilt wheel either,...

It takes 3 people to really find steerin' slop,...
One to hold/ shake the wheel, one to hold/ shake the drive, 'n one to crawl 'round the bilge to see what's shakin', where,....
