how do you adjust the jack plate

hello i have 19ft bass boat with 200 gt has jack plate when its on plane it has spray out the sides still shouldnt in just be out the back when on plane wouldnt this hurt my topend speed how do ya know when is adjusted ok

The spray could be from your fish finder transducer.

Max speed should occur just before the prop ventilates (Starts to slip and engine revs). This is the point of most thrust and least resistance.

It should have adjustment bolts to raise or lower it.

it does but how do ya know when to raise it or lower it thats what im asking what is the right hight for the motor

Depends on the V shape of your boat, but a rule of thumb is, the anti-cavitation plate should be even with the bottom of the transom.
