I just bought a 96 75hp Mercury Tracker out board I know there is a Mercury Force Tracker and that it is an engine to stay away from. There is nothing on this engine that says its a Force engine. The ID number is OE186477 model number 75 ELPT. The title says Mercury. Any thoughts?

Do you know much about these engines? Hadn't heard anything good yet... just curious?

Basic 2 cycle engine. Been running for 17 years. What more do you want it to do?

Is it running? ... Just kidding. Although there are some engines that are made a little cheaper than others, and more subject to down time, if a used engine has been maintained properly I would put more stock in that than stereotypes.
