How do you know what the pitch of your prop is?

I need a new one. Can you give me info on what I need to look for on the old one so I can get the correct prop?

Remove the old prop, and the numbers are generally on the outside face of the hub, sometimes covered by the nut and washer. Sometimes on the outside of the barrel.
