1993 200hp carb evinrude. not always, which makes it worse, but sometimes on startup it takes three or four times for the engine to maintain an idle If I give it gas it will just bog down. Bulb is primed and hard. would this condition be indicative of a carb problem, or possibly a fuel pump?? If I am running ( which when it runs it runs good, sometimes some hesitation ) and I shut it off for an hour, I get the same condition, similar to fuel starvation. Carbs always have to be primed when starting, I believe they are bleeding down when left overnight, Ineed to replace float hardware. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Spark test on cold engine, should jump app 1/2 inch gap at cranking rpms with plugs in. I have seen a few of these engine only fire 3/4 cylinders on start up then then when engines warms up and the Quickstart switches to the run sensors, the engine fires on all 6 and runs fine.A long shot.

Before rebuilding carbs and fuel pumps, you need to eliminate the anti-siphon valves as the culprit. Bypass your onboard tanks with an external fuel tank and run the boat. If your problem goes away, the problem is either the anti-siphon valve or something clogging your fuel tanks. If the problem still exists, I would re-build the fuel pump first. The carbs should be the last thing to touch.
