How do you remove the front V berth back cushions on a 1997 202 BR ? Help!!

I have a 1997 Crownline 202 Br and need to know how the front bowrider cushions(seat back)are attached.I have found the mounting screws under the dash but need to know what else holds them in.Its the last piece of the puzzel and I need advise how to remove them.Thanks in advance!!

I think you will be reaching through the bottom flip up seat cushion opening and up behind the seat back cushions to find the mounting bolts. Don't imagine the mounting hardware to be any different from that you found beneath/behind the helm.

Yeah you can find the studs that way. You have to get creative on the angle of your arms. Also removing the bottom cushion helps.

I am faced with the very same issue you have, judging by the pictures above. It seems the custom 2 piece boat cover I had made with the boat back when i bought it did not do its job very well and leaked water into the bow section and dry rotted my wood supports for my backing seats. Vinyl is still good, just wood is all gone. Do you plan on taking this repair project on yourself, if you dont mind me asking? I would like to know more about it and if it is something that can be done by your DIY er.

I got a quote from a shop and they redid them for $200.00 a side.I had to do both it turned out and for that price I let them do it while they installed a Bimini top for me.All the advise was pretty spot on and I would imagine if you were handy with wood this would be a fun project.Just decided to let them do it.Glad I did and they used the old vinyl.In hind sit I should have just went ahead and recovered them for the extra cash....Now that I know how they come off I will pull them and drop them off at a canvas shop when it turns cool here in the South....Gotta love the Crownlines too!

I am only a novice at this.. I have done wood work, however afer seeing the actual construction of the support, it kinda makes me think that I would be best off to leave it to a pro. Good to hear you got it fixed and that price doesnt sound all that bad except for maybe the parts used to rebuild it was only about 50 bucks, tops? May i suggest to you, if you dont already have a cover or maybe you do, either way get one that will cover that area completely (window on down past the cushions and over the side. I had a 2 piece custom cover that ended at thhe bottom section of the window, then started out again from the window up on back and it is what caused it to go bad. Just wished I would have payed closer attention to this before it happened, but my boat has been sitting now for 8 years. It has a cracked block and im gonna be putting a new motor in it this winter,, thinking on going the 383 route........ Anyway's thanks for the response and info........... Mike
