this antique is all new to me. i have no idea how to run this on land. anyone remember ? i just googled it and apparently it is an OMC stringer
i do not see anywhere to attach a hose to this thing. it is a chrysler motor, and it is a 1973 225 model

most stringers have a hose connection at the trunion cap.

however if the drive is off, just connect the garden hose to the thermostat housing where the line from the transom comes in.

I do not believe Chrysler was ever used in OMC sterndrive units.----But there may be an exception.

there is no id on the engine so i looked up the year and HP. so if a

TUFM-21C

is a chevy engine then i guessed the wrong model however, what i know is it is a chrysler engine. it has chrysler emobosed right on top of it, maybe on the manifolds, i cant recall, and it is a stringer from google photos i have seen.

Got pictures? Chrysler made a few stern drives (know little to nuthin' about 'em). Volvo, Chrysler and OMC would all have been white drives back then.

The Chrysler engine would have to marry up to the OMC intermediate. So, if it's truly a Chrysler glued to a OMC, then you've got a frankenmotor. OMC used GM, Ford, Jeep and Buick engines in 72, but not Chryslers.

1972 OMC Stringer would have had a water connection on the trunion cap like Scott said. But that connection was an option - so some drives didn't have 'em. I've seen guys rig up threaded connectors to the water hoses up in the engine compartment to run water that way too.

I have seen pix of a Chrysler engine with a Volvo drive, or maybe it was a Dana drive but it was not an OMC Stringer.....maybe that is what you have, post up pix.

Here's one that is labeled Chrysler Marine but is obviously a Volvo Penta 270.
