How does my charge pro work?

I'm totally clueless as to how my inboard charger works. I have a dual battery setup with selector switch. Does it charge by ship to shore power?

Yes, it works via shore power and an on-off switch, probably on a breaker panel inside the cabin. It'll be labeled 'charger'.

Hopefully, your charger is a dual bank type that's hard-wired to, and charges both batts at once. There should be some indication on the charger itself- for example, a 2-bank, 20-amp charger will supply 10 amps per bank (battery) to 2 batteries at the same time. If it is that type, you don't need to use the battery selector switch. You can leave it set in any position, including 'off'. If it's a single bank charger, you'll typically direct the charge to the battery you want (or both batts at the same time) via the battery selector switch.

It has a few wires hanging from it so I dOnt think it's hard wired lol. So I just connect the wires to the battery I want to charge? And put the battery selector switch on Off or both? Dont want to back feed current into the boat electronics

It's a 10amp. Has 2 positive leads. 1 neg. It is wired to the breaker panel after further investigation. Now I need to buy a adapter plug for my shore power cord so I can charge at home.

That means you can supply 5 amps per battery. Okay to keep them topped up. It'll take a long time to bring them back from a discharge. If I were keeping the boat at home between uses, I'd also be tempted to buy a portable smart charger for all-around use. I bought my husky for $59. at Home Depot a few years ago. It charges all battery types (wet, gel and AGM) at up to 20 amps output, and has a 'desulfate' mode that I use occasionally. It'll also shut itself down when the battery's charged. Your charger might or might not do that.

Don't get me wrong- there's nothing at all wrong with your plan to adapt your shore power cable for use at home. I have an adaptor, too.
