Keep in mind that he is seeing 54 on the speedo. Not taking anything away from New Bob or his boat, but very few wish-o-meters are accurate. GPS is the only way to know for sure.

I have a 2008 Glastron GT 185 with 190HP 4.3L Volvo Penta, 1.79:1 gears and 23P stock aluminum prop.

With a full tank of gas, minimal gear and just my wife with me on the boat the speedo (wish-o meter) shows 58 MPH. Our combined weight is probably around 340 pounds and the lake was fairly smooth. My GPS on the other hand shows a max of 52 MPH while the speedo is showing the 58 MPH.
