Just curious on how fast everyones 85hp forces go and a reason why?

Mine does 30mph because the wood under the fiberglass deck is rotted and no noubt the foam is waterlogged. I'm probably dragging around an extra 400lbs or so which really pushes the stern down into the water. I'll probably rebuild it next summer.

My 17' maxum w 1988 85 hp does about 32 mph at 5200 wot rpm's with just myself in the boat. Have a 17 pitch aluminum prop on it now. I could probably get a few more if I stepped the bottom paint and polished- it's a mess and I know definitly adds considerable drag.

Ive been rebuilding this antique well craft that has been sitting for 5 years since Katrina and finally got all the new equipment parts etc. installed and changed and took her out for a trial run today and Ill tell you what im surprised I reached 35 and the power, its got tons of power I hit the throttle and she takes off. HUGE difference from my flat boat haha. Best of all it pins you so much that the plastic lawn chair I was sitting on broke. Im impressed! All I want to do now is joy ride all day long.
