I've seen 10"2 zodiacs with rigid bottoms, marine ply wood, and highpressure inflatable hulls. My guess is the Rib would be fastest and the max power for all these boats is 10hp, i wonder how fast a 82lb tohatsu 9.8ph motor would move me with these boats, hoping more than 7mph, if anyone has any educated guesses let me know, my 16ft fiberglass goes 40mph on the bay if i could even push 15mph in a zodiac the gas saving would be worth it

My 13' Rib will hold 36mph with a 50hp on it and the acceleration is very good-as is the fuel consumption. I should be able to hold 40mph without too much problem if I go up a pitch on the prop.

Unless the bay is very calm all the time I wouldn't bother with a 10' inflatable-too easy to flip-specially if you catch the wind under the hull as you come up a wave...! Get a proper small rib like mine or boatster's :D (this is a link to my 'build' thread)
http://forums.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=26;t=003629

I've had one on a trailer going 65mph or so, that's pretty fast
