Re: How fast should my bass boat go?
I don't understand some of these responses regarding speed. I guess a lot of people here have never tournament bass fished. The boat is fast to get you to the fish sooner and back to the weigh in on time. Some pros pre-fish the area a week or more before the tournament and if the bass are 40 miles away from the ramp, well they're riding 30 miles. That's when a 20' rig with a 250 on it that can cruise at 55 is really nice. I've been with my brother when we rode 30 miles at 70MPH+ the whole way to get to a area where he knew there were fish. Of course gas was $1.50 a gallon at the time.
Also honestly the're just plain fun to drive. Just like a fast car. If you don't enjoy either one of those you are getting too old
