How fast should she go?

I'm wondering how fast my 18' 1983 sun runner OB 230 hp omc with stringer 800 drive should be going? Just a general ballpark as I would like to track down any gremlins she might have. I'm aware of a lot of variables but somebody has to have a clue?

Yes lots of variables. I was surprised how my new 4.3 is not much faster than my old 3.0. Weight is a killer. I would say 45-50 mph. Even a 3.0L on a 17' will hit 45 on a good day.

with the right prop and weight balance you should be high 40's

I had a 4.3LX in an 18' SeaRay kinda like that. She would do ~45MPH, downhill with the wind. Of course on the trailer she would do 70....down the parkway.

Mid to high 40's depending on what she weighs in at. My 18' with 165HP will run about 32 without trim.

I had an 83 Sunrunner. They are pretty good boats. I would guess that you should hit mid to high 40's if the motor is not tired.
