Lots of factors to consider like weight, etc. But I'd say about 30mph is the best you'll get.

Yea that's about it... 25-30mph assuming a stock prop on a calm day--less if you really got it loaded down with people or equipment. That's still moving pretty decent for a small boat. Tuned just right or with a tail wind you could theoretically hit 35mph. Ideal cruising speed will be around 18-22mph. I'm thinking my 14ft tin on a 35hp Evinrude will go around 30mph, and i'm sure my tin weighs less then your fiberglass.

I'm not trying to steal or hijack your thread..I was just wonder how fast my 75 hp Johnson will go? Since it too is on a 14' fiberglass boat.

Is it a runabout? bass boat? cruiser? I don't really have a useful prediction, but it may be helpful. I would say anywhere from 32-40mph depending on the weight and profile in the water.

I have a very Light weight Shell lake 14' runabout with a 40 on it and 30mph is impossible. I was getting 21mph WOT Gps But my 4 blade prop might be the issue there. Still I think tops is 25

If you know your LU gearing(i.e 2.41), your rpm, and your prop's pitch.....use this calculator for theoretical speed. Use 8-10% prop slip as a general number in the calc. If you are heavily loaded or boat is waterlogged...slip number will be higher.

My guess is you have the wrong prop on... you could easily get another 5mph with the right prop. Should be a triple blade about a 10.5 x 12 pitch... you could go 11 or 13 pitch depending on if you want a bit more hole shot or top end.

It's a ski boat and pretty dang light.
