Hi all.
Quick question:
I have a 4.3L merc + alpha one Gen II.
I serviced the drive recently having replaced the drive boot (thats a tough one to install) and had to remove the exhaust boot.
Although I used the glue for the exhust boot, the drive end of the boot has come loose so that it came off when I was out on the boat and raised the drive.
I was able to put the boot back on and hand tighten the clamp, but I am sure it isn't watertight.
Here's the question: does it have to be watertight? The boot leads to the exhauat opening in the drive anyway and is exposed to water in any case.
Some assurance on this item would help from anybody who knows. Should I take the boot off and glue it? Thanks fo your feedback?
