I have just hit the 200 hour mark on my 130hp Yamaha and plan on getting a few things done. First will be my impeller, and then I would like to use this "Seafoam" I have heard so much about. My only question is how exactly is it applied? Do you just take out the plugs, spray it in and wait a day and start the engine? Or is applied like the old "Gumout" was applied to my car, right into the carbs while the engine is running? I havent ever seen the can and Im sure the instructions are right on the can, but Id like to be a little "In the know" before I go down to the dock. Thanks in advance, Pat

You spray the foam into the carbs, while the engine is running. You can also take the plugs out and spray in there too(obviously not when it is running, ha ha)let it sit and fire it up in the am. If you take it down to the dock, warm the motor up and then spray in each carb enough to almost kill it, then raise the rpm's alittle and spray 'till you kill it.Let it sit for 45min to an hour, and run it across the lake. One can should be enough, but some folks use one per carb.
check with Mercury Grease Rag, he is the most vocal about Seafoam, to see how he recommends using it. Good luck

You do not want to spray it into the intake of an efi engine, it will ruin the sensors.

I believe you can still spray it into the cylinders without damage.
Best to contact the manufacturer/dealer of your motor and ask them for the official answer. They probably have thier own recommended product to use.

I haven't found any place yet you could spray this product where it did anything but good.No fires of course.
