What model? Any through hulls? Put 20 gallons in, does it leak on the trailer?

Re: how is water getting in my 17 ft aluminum

I pulled the plug after a trip out & a ton of water came out, couldn't fiqure it out, then on another trip I heard the pump running in my live well & when I looked in it was full & overlowing. I left the switch on manual by mistake & the overflow hole couldn't keep up with the high rate of water that the pump was putting in. I run the Live Well Pump on nothing but Auto now & not one drop of water since.

Assuming you have a Lowe. I have a 2007 FM-175 w/ 115-Optimax.
After a 10-day trip to the Ozarks (bilge every morning) & day trip to Clinton lake, I was taking on water every time I'd launch. Thought it was a bad transducer mount / caulk job after new Humminbird installed. Brought it back to Cabelas to have them check it out. After re-mounting & caulking the transducer, Cabelas found a 6" long tear in the middle of the hull. With a lot of phone calls direct to customer service, they agreed to replace the entire hull instead of a patch. In your driveway put a hose inside the hull and see if you have any leaks.

I have a 2009 FS185 that was taking on water from the day it was new. It had to go back for a repaint and I am told that there was some sort of break or hole in one of the live well lines. All should be good now. It has been a pain but the dealer and Lowe have been great about it. I love the boat and there are no regrets.

I experienced water in the hull also with a 2008 FM 165. Turned out to be from the livewell. Water would slosh out on rough water and run into bottom of hull. Try not filling your livewell and see if you get any water, then fill it and check after filling livewell. This will take a little time and some waves or rough water to slosh it around if it's the same problem I had.
