How long can I run my O/B at idle outa the water?

I want to check and run my 1975 50hp Mercury outboard before I take it out on its maiden voyage and was wondering how long I can run the motor at idle with the muffs on ?
Its been sitting all winter and I just got done with a tune up and want to make sure it holds a smooth idle once warm.
Ive started it and it fires right up but I havent let it run for longer thanh 30 seconds or so.

I run my rude 140 for 10 and more minutes with out problems
you shouldn't have any problems with extended idle times
