How long do I need to let the sealant dry?

I am going to be installing my new Smart Tabs (SX) this weekend. I plan on using the 3M 4200 that many on the board have recommended.

However, I have not read anything about how long you need to let the sealant dry/cure before you can put the boat in the water.

Also, is it best to put sealant on the screws and in the pilot holes?

Thanks,

It's tack-free in 1-2 hours and completely cured in 24-48 hours.

Use it on the screws, in the holes, and on the hardware. With a damp cloth ant excess can be removed before it tacks up.

Re: How long do I need to let the sealant dry?

Thanks of the info Reel Poor.

So, how long do I have to wait before putting the boat in the water?

Is it OK to put it in after a couple of hours? Or should I wait the 24-48?

The boat is at the lake 75 minutes away and I won't be able to get there until Friday, but would like to use the boat this weekend.

Thanks for any extra info you can provide.

The 4200 Fast Cure will cure thru 6mm in 24 hours at around 70 degrees. If your wanting to use the boat for the weekend I would do the install Friday evening and go boating the nex day. With the thin application you are doing I would allow 6-8 hours.
