There are many variables that will determine how long your aluminum part will last. I have a Bravo III drive and the aluminum has already suffered severe corrosion. <br /><br />Use a magnet to determine if the riser is aluminum.<br /><br />The life will be directly impacted by how long the boat is in the water, Salt or Fresh. Do you flush with fresh water at the end of the day?<br /><br />The manufacturer should tell you, Mercrury's have a 3 year warranty on corrosion. Good Luck!
