"legs" that fold up under the pontoon you don't need a lift, pull up to the dock deploy the legs and it lifts the boat out of the water.

The OP question was re. "new". You went beyond the question saying what you didn't like and it was in effect a diatribe against other boat forms.

The original question was : How many boats have you purchase new, my answer to the question was overly understood. Boat with whatever you're comfortable with and to each his own preferred watercraft toy, If you were boating in UK, cradle of Ribs with a standard traditional boat everyone will surely look strangely at your boat. Nope it's not a regional thing as Texasmark pounts it out. Down here small Sibs, Ribs are used as larger boats, sailboats tenders which were designed to work as aux watercrafts. To own and maintain a traditional boat with a large motor is super costly here and there and if you're not mechanically inclined will end depending on a shade tree mechanic, besides my boating Club doesn't count with a boat ramp, only a 2 ton crane is available at the pier's end which is perfect for launching and retrieving 430-530 meter Ribs purposes..

All of mine are purchased new - I have a thing for warranties...I like them. To me, I'd rather know the maintenance history than go by what the previous owner may have done.

The '57 MFG was a boat my parent's bought used in '86 so I learned on that hunk of junk first. It served its purpose... my sister hit a few docks with it.


All that being said, I'm half-heartedly looking for a project boat as I have plans, which are sure shooting going to be shot to high heck given the current circumstances, of taking a small engine/outboard repair class at local Boces in the not too distant future. As my local DMV's are closed, I'm not seriously looking at this point...I want paperwork in my hands saying I own it before I drop any $ into it.
