How many cranking amps do I need? 18 merc

Was just wondering if anyone new how many cranking amps I need to
start my older 18 horse merc? Looking for the smallest battery I can
get away with. Any suggestions on a brand would be helpfull?

The smallest battery used to be a size 22. That would be fine for that motor. I cannot help beyond that, I'm afraid.

Going off the top of my head I think I saw 60 - 70 amps as a draw number in the 18 - 25hp manual.

I've cranked my 25hp on a 50amp fused circuit and didn't blow the fuse.
