I was just wondering how many hours everyone puts on their motor each year.

I put about one hundred hours + a year on my motor. But I also live right on the water and the boat is available 24/7.

We put on about 20 this year. Not a ton but when we go out we mostly anchor so we're not running a lot.

I thought I had done pretty good getting just over 50 hours this year. Of course, we also spend some time at anchor with the motor off.

Re: how many hours do you average each season?

We took the boat out about 3 times a week for about 3 months(June-Aug) so I guess about 180 hours of actual time on the boat if you average 5hrs per trip.

As mentioned we only used the motor a fraction of that since I anchor and fish for hours at a time. There were days where I spent more than 8 hours fishing or relaxing on board.

I don't have a hour meter but probably only ran my main outboard 20-30 hours total. My Minn Kota and 5.5hp Johnson put in more time when trolling or idling in no-wake zones or busy rivers.

I'd say a low of 20 and a high of 60 on a six month season, every other weekend.

122 hours this year according to the meters. That includes a couple of overnighters.

100 hours per year, almost exactly (at least for the last 2). We do lots of very short trips, mostly because we don't have a long "commute" to get to the good water. My wakeboarder/skiier often never even gets in the boat, I tow them from the dock and when they get tired we I take them back to the dock. I would guess each trip out averages 30 minutes or less.

We put about 120 this year. River is super close and we went about 3 or 4 times per week. Took several long cruises too.

This was our first season with the rinker, I bet we put more than that on the old Glastron before we got this boat.

Re: how many hours do you average each season?

Probably around 200 on the main outboard and 400 on the kicker this year.

Boats been in the water since Feb. July was mostly camping/boating which means lots of hours on the main. I fished almost daily in august and september. A fishing trip is usually 2 hours on the main and 6 or 8 on the kicker. A few long distance trips, 30-40 miles each way. It really adds up!

And the boat is still at the slip until Oct. 31st. I plan to make another 5 or 6 fishing trips before its out for the season.

Re: how many hours do you average each season?

I'd have to guess about 40 hrs, figuring that I run about 15-20 minutes a shot each way, and get out maybe twice every three weeks these days, and after the end of about Oct. the boat gets put up till the weather breaks. Since I've got four boats in the water, that also gets divided up between the four, some more, some less, it depends where I'm heading. This has been a light year for the boat, to much rain, and too little time on the water. If it wasn't raining, it was 100 degrees outside.

Re: how many hours do you average each season?

I just bought our boat in July, and we put about 27 hour on it up till now. Haven't been out much the last couple of weeks though with the weather getting cold.

Probably going to be winterizing it in a couple of weeks :(

Re: how many hours do you average each season?

wow, I gotta quit working on boats and go boating.
my 18'ft fish and ski I repowered with a 175 E-TEC in nov of 06. it has 35 hours on it as of 3 weeks ago.
my 21 seapro I repowered with an F150 in aug of 07 and it now has 142 hours on it.
the seapro typically stays tied up at the dock about 60' from my back door unless its out for maint. today its out for maint but should be back overboard this afternoon.
