the sailboat gets towed about 75 miles in the spring to the lake and it's left there. Two to four miles to the ramp from the storage (never clocked it) couple of times a month. The ski boat stays in the garage. About 10 miles to the river couple of times a month and maybe one trip or two to the lake.

Last year, none. I launched in the yard and left it on the lift.
This year bought a boat and towed 460 miles towing just bringing it home and then back to the dealer once.

Never sat and counted it all up but I'm easily in excess of 5K miles a year..a lot more some years.

It's 125 miles round trip way to my home port. Made that trip 20 times in April alone.

I'm an avid fisherman and SW fish are migratory. You have to go where the fish are.

The next week or so I'll be running out of my home port but by late November the boat will back on the trailer and we'll be running down to Southern Maryland (200 mile round trip) to launch. Cheaper to drive down than to run the boat 30 miles each way every morning just to get to the fishing grounds. Figure 10-15 trips between now and the end of the year.

Have a couple of two and three day trips planned for the Bay Bridge Tunnel complex in Cape Charles, Virginia (400 miles round trip) in late December. Good chance we'll run down to the Outer Banks (650 miles round trip)for a long weekend in January if the fish show up in good numbers

The lower Mead gets, the farther away it is. It used to be about 1/2 mile to launch it. Now it's about a mile & a half. So with the low lake level, and launching about 12-15 times a year I tow about 20 miles a year would be my best guess.

I go 92 miles 1-way to the ramp where the family has partnered up with a houseboat. On average, we go there once a month. So that makes it 2400 miles a year approximately. Oops! I just realized I answered the survey wrong. I wonder if I can cast another vote? Worth a try.

Just got back from my second trip to Pensacola in a month - 650 miles each way. Otherwise, it's a mile a week, max but I love salt water boating.

To the lake, 120 miles away a few times a year, Local ramps about 35 miles away many times through the year... so I would say, in an average year about...1500 or so...

It's about 340 miles one way to Ontario Canada and we do at least three trips a year.

We've been doing this for 16 years and so far I've had ONE flat trailer tire ( non on tow vehicle ).

Keeping up on preventive maintenance is a big help.

I trailer about 40 miles each way to the Ocean. And at least once a year to the Keys.

Re: How many miles a year do you tow your boat?

All this survey did was make me feel like I am nuts
To the cottage 4 -5 times a year 600 km return (x5) 3000 km
To North Bay 1 time 900 return 900 km
To and from marina (for set up and storage) 200 km
To Florida and back in the winter 5000 km

And I pay to keep my boat at a slip all year !@!!

9100 km = 5654 miles + a few miscellaneous trips to local areas

i checked 0-500 miles but when i got to thinking about how much i do take the boat out. it's more along the lines of 500-1000 if not more. in the last 2-2.5 months i just tallied up over 500 miles. trips to the lake 10 miles round trip from the house regularly. then theres the others that 80-100 miles round trip. i have done that 6 or so times.

28 trips a year, times 270 miles round trip comes to 7560. WOW. I never gave it a thought before but I am putting on more miles then I had imagined. This is an eye opener. Good question.

I have no idea, but my usual choice of ramps is large and varies in distance between a mile and about 50 miles. There are a few that would be more like 100 miles, but I don't use them often.

I'll take a WAG and say 1000+ miles, mostly because I use the boat a lot.

Re: How many miles a year do you tow your boat?

The poll is now closed but with a 500 mile fishing trip plus 80 to 120-mile fishing trips almost every week I'm in the 3000 miles annually ballpark.
