i had a 1978 Evinrude 25hp..set for over ten years pulled it out,,put in plugs gas/oil...fired off in a 7 or 8 pulls...<br /><br />now have 1975 johnson 25hp.... ;)

I've also got a 1978 Johnson 70 and a 1970's Merc 50 Thunderbolt that still run good but aren't in use. Favorite is a Yamaha 4-stroke. ;)

'73 Johnson 135 hp v4 , good motor, mothership powerhouse. <br />'58 Johnson 18 hp , no good use but am planning to build boat for this one. <br />2001 Nissan 3.5 hp, kicker and 14' alum power.

I have a 73 85hp Rude(a old war horse)<br />79 85hp Rude(when I got it I doubt if it had 80 hrs on it).<br />72 50 hp Johnson (needs a rebuild). When I get a new boat looks like I'll be headed for the Bomb motors.<br /><br />Dutch

I really like Evinrude, i think its from my childhood, I was always told its the best outboard :D

Motors i've owned over the last year:<br /><br />1982 Johnson 7.5, I rebuilt the gear box.<br />1978 Evinrude 6 long shaft. Rebuilt water pump.<br />1976 Evinrude 6 long shaft. Repaired stuck shifter linkage.<br />1980 Chrysler 6. Carb and linkage completely frozen from salt water immersion or something...rebuilt. Broken starter pinion gear, replaced.<br />1989 Suzuki 6. Rebuilt carb.<br />1963 Johnson 40 electric start. Rebuilt water pump, changed head gasket and machined head, rebuilt fuel pump, rebuilt carb. An excellent motor!<br /><br />Currently own:<br />1981 Evinrude 60 twin with tilt and trim. Rebuilt powerhead, including boring holes, new oversized pistons.<br /><br />Still looking for a Jonnyrude 60 to 70hp three cylinder fixer upper or 85 to 125 four cylinder fixer upper.<br /><br />I might add that all the help and expertese I needed to do the work on these outboards I got from the mastertech site and this site.<br />I'd never done any work on an ouboard before the Jonson 7.5!

Have a 99,150 Optimax now, <br /><br />Had a<br />2000,225 OPTI 98,150EFI,97,200EFI, 96 150EFI,93 200 Carb,90 150 Carb this list could go back for ages so my first one was a 402 74 model, you would have thought that I would have stayed away from Merc from then on.<br /><br />Hey but there BLACK and nothin looks better on the back.<br /><br />KIWI

I can't remember how many but I can remember that everyone was a Johnson or an Evinrude from 3HP up to 235HP(except that one time I bought a boat that had a M_ _ _ _ _y on it) and after just restoring a 72" Evinrude 65 HP Triumph I am more addicted now than ever. I started making plans this week to buy the new Evinrude E-Tech (thanks to a posting on this site) in 2005. I think I will buy a 115 and put it on a 19' Grady White. I can't wait
