ok, i'm hooking up a tach and speedo to my 1973 135 johnson. i had one pitot there for my tach on my previous motor. my speedo didn't work before. my question is when i hook up the tach and the speedo do i need to have two separate pitots? or how do i hook it up to get the results i need?

you might be confusing what a pitot is... it is the thing that hangs down off the transom to measure water pressure, which is directly related to speed. (it is built into outboard motors usually, but the concept is the same) The tach gauge is 100% electrical, it reads rpm's off the stator, no pitot needed!
