I saw that boat also on CL. Must be a crappie or catfish tournament rig. Nice boat, but not my style of fishing

I just figured it out!

His wife complained that he could never use 20 fishing rods, so he put 22 rod holders on the boat. (22 so there was a bit of cushion, in the event he found another rod he wanted to buy)

Well, I have a couple more than that.

Running planer boards. I run 135' long boards lines with anywhere from 4-8 lines off each board plus 5 off the roof rack, 4 out of the gunnels and two off the transom. Normally troll 12-14 rods but can run as many as 22 rods during tournaments. Tangles are few and far between.

BTW: Don't try this at home. We're trained professsionals

Yep, agree with Dingbat. I have 27 rod holders and 19 of them are fishable with a full spread. In the pic the down riggers are not on (2 rod holders each) and I have a shoot rod holder in the middle of the transom

Those aren't rod holders, they are use when is at the dock to hold constitine wire. Red Neck security. DUH

Where do you fish that allows tht many rods? In lake Erie we are allowed 2 rods per person and only one every where else.

Obviously everywhere else doesn't include here. There are no tackle restrictions on tidal water, at least around here.

Na?.the size of the fish we catch it doesn?t take more than a couple to fill the box.

He's got it rigged for Crappie. Simple enough to see if you've ever fished Crappie. I know this was started as a joke thread but rod holders and rod storage are important to anglers that value their equipment. I run with two rod holders when fishing by myself and four with a buddy. I have 4 fixed vertical rod holders (storage). 4 adjustable (fishing), and side storage for for six rods. Some of my rod/reel combos cost me 1,000.00 each and I sure as heck don't want to be walking on them.

1000.00 rod and reel set up for crappie? please tell me that is a joke, most of us use ultralight tackle for those ferocious little fish. i use bigger bait when i go musky fishin 15" suckers go big or go home. those setups cost me around 200 bucks a piece and have lasted years.

I fish Lake Erie, we have a 2 rod limit until next year. Then we go to 3, get 4 or 5 guys and a couple of their kids on board and the rods get loaded up

Dang straight lines tangle!!!... and anyone that says they don't get tangles is either just movin' his mouth or isn't catchin' anything but little ol' baby fish!

I Crappie fish with 6-8 rods and a good size Crappies will get one or two lines along with the one he's on, get a 5 lb. Bass or a 10 lb. Catfish and he'll get every damn line on the boat!!!... but it's still fun!
