I would say we use the boat between 5 - 10 times per month, and the Sea Doo's maybe 2 or 3 times a month. I've been trying to stretch this season out as long as possible - we had beautiful 68* weather here yesterday, water was like glass, and we just couldn't say no. I think we can get another 2 weeks out of the season, however!

I go out in the middle of winter sometimes.
But I have to keep winterizing my engine.
I think if you used ur engine all winter you would not have to winterize it.

Bowman316- we're in the same general area, and with winter temperatures around here it's a real crapshoot. The past 2 winters I've kept my boat in the water with 2 bilge heaters installed, and STILL winterized everything- including the engines. Why take the chance? Re-winterizing 1 engine after a run only takes a few minutes and $20 worth of pink A-F.
Is saving 20 bucks worth a cracked block? Think about it.

doe swinterizing protect the engine block from freezing up, or just protect the engine from not being used all winter?
I don't think gas would freeze anyway.

Antifreeze protects the engine block from cracking due to any residual water. Some of the pink A-F out there also has rust inhibitors to help prevent rust during storage.
Gas won't freeze under normal conditions, but can freeze under extreme conditions. That's why guys up in Canada and the arctic use gas line antifreeze.
