I was told by my agent that when towing the boat with my pickup it boat is covered by the pickups insurance. So, I don't need any special" boat towing insurance". This would be just liability coverage though and not cover damage to the boat. Maybe that's the difference.

KJD, had to laugh. I saw your cost and thought how do you get $900 out of that......then I saw the part about drugs. Ah, that explains it. Agree on the stuff coming out of Hollywood.

Boat stays at mom's house so fishing trips are scheduled around visits. Ten minutes to the launch. Boat covered by home owner's insurance umbrella along with the truck. Do not count towing expense. Last time I went out fished for 6 hours with 4 people in the boat and burned only 3 gallons of gas. Cost $5 to launch. Cost of three gallons of gas, launch fee, stabilizer, oil, ice and snacks under $50.
