Let me add some more info. I'm replacing the floor on a 15 foot runabout. I'm going to use west systems epoxy for this and just want to know if I should just spend the money on the 5 gal. or is that going to be way to much? I know I have cracks to fill but just want to make sure I'll have enough or if that isn't going to be enough.
Smitty, Like BillP said,I think 2 gals would be more than enough, but keep in mind that epoxy, unlike polyester, is very stable and will keep for years, so if you have any additional projects you may want to get the 5 gals.
ive got a 23 footer, had to do a stringer up resto job and have at least 10 gallons so far probly gonna need 4 more gallons to finish, but i said in the other thread I may have overdid it a little, epoxy can be used for a multitude of things as well as boat work, id get the 5 gallons if i were you
Are you going to saturate the plywood I assume you using with two coats? Found a site that tested and 2 coats keeps the most water out. I would get the 5 gallon jug and make sure you get a fast and a slow hardner. You will probably need to make a paste also to fill holes and attach stuff. Get cabosil and some glass fiber 1/8" to 1/4" length.
