Did you happen to notice it was written by jeffnick? The blog leaves out one important fact, that according to the Bearing Buddy instructions, you fill the hub entirely with grease and the blog assumes that isn't done. I do agree that if the hub is actually filled with grease that you should seldom, if ever, need to be pumping in more grease.

That's my point, if the hub is full as directed and like you say, it shouldn't need more grease, then why use the bearing buddy?

To keep a slight positive pressure is the theory.

Only a small amount which is needed bu used trailers hub is necessary , it is about 1/4 of that you had used.

i have had my boat and trailer since 04. BB on it. i check them a couple times a season and add grease if there 1/2 way in. ive traveled from illinois to WV and arkansas a few times. ive never checked the temps never opened them up and never had any issues. if it isnt broke i aint fixing it.

It appears that the old saying "a little grease is better than NO grease" is appropriate here. And furthermore, MORE grease is better than LOTS of grease!!!
