How much hp can I put on my 14 ft fiberglass runabout

I just got a 14 ft barracuda fiberglass runabout and it came with a 40 hp engine on it. I didn't know if I could put on a 50,60, or even 70 horsepower. Thanks

Need more information. The design of the hull, size including beam, steering and condition have allot to do with ratings.

There should be a Capacity plate/label in the hull....... what does that say.

Ditto. If you go up from 40 on that size boat you have special considerations for safety.

you can put any hp on it as long as it is equal or less than the capacity plate.
