How much is a 1991 Capri 2250 open bow with a 5.7 worth?

My friend has this boat and is possibly moving to Hawaii and is getting ready to sell it. I'm somewhat interested in buying it, but not sure if I can afford it and if it is exactly what I want. The boat is in solid shape overall, I'd say a 9 out of 10 for its age. The exterior, interior and engine are all in good. It has bow and cockpit covers. It also has a pretty serious sound system and wakeboard tower. It is these items that I'm not sure I need, nor do I really want to pay for them. Any thoughts on what the boat is worth with and without the sound system/tower? I believe he wants $7K. It seems a bit high maybe, but not unreasonable (if you are paying for the sound/system and tower as well). Any thoughts are appreciated.

for a 20 year old boat its way too much and has no guarantee what you may find when you have it and his long gone.

I've been in the boat every year for the last five summers, so I know some of the little issues that it has because of it's age and that there is nothing significant that is wrong. That doesn't mean the price he is thinking about is right, but I'm not worried about him hiding a major issue and taking a hit from that. If 6-7K is way too much what is a good number? Keep in mind I want a good deal, but I'm not trying to rip my friend off either and I don't think he would try to rip me off either. I know pricing old boats is very difficult because of the varying degrees of condition. I think he paid 10K in 2001 (I think) for it and then put about 2K in upgrades into it (the tower, sound system, etc).
