How much torque do I put on the bolts when put my out drive back together? It is a 95 OMC unit on a 4.3L engine. Also is there a certin pattern to torque the bolts? Thanks

Hi,do the 2 center ones first until snug,then criss cross snug and then use same pattern and continue to snug each one until tight.I have never used a torque on these,I just make sure they are tight and have never had a problem. Charlie

My alpha 1 was 50 ft/lbs, I would consider that safe. Remember the unit is aluminum, make sure the washers are present, to spread the load properly. I was told proper torque patern is upper left, lower right, upper right, lower left, then the two center ones, and if you realy want to do it right, snug first, 20 -25 lbs then finaly 50 lbs.
