Its as simple as you make it, sounds like you have a good idea of what to do, there are a few special tools that come in handy for this, like a flywheel holder, IMO, I do not like hitting the puller with a hammer,remember thats the crank your beating on. Some service manuals say not to use an impact hammer wrench, " i believe there all wet on this one, I have been doing it for over 20 years, if you have good puller bolts & a solid puller give it a few burps with a good impact & off it will pop.
