Forgot to mention, that one has oar lock so you might want to pick some up and keep them handy in case while fishing you want to get back into the real slop.

I would have driven to Canada for that deal. You win! Congrats and enjoy.

BTW - you might save the most money by buying an old boat/trailer combo just to get the trailer, then either sell the boat or junk it if it's in terrible shape.

You are right, I saw a lot of those. I'm going to go see a galvanized trailer today, the asking price is 400$ for a good one, in great shape. It's not an incredible deal, but I like the fact that it is not an home made one.

It can also handle up to 16 feet.

Make sure you price out a new trailer first. Don't want to pay $400 for a used one when a new one with brand new tires, lights, etc is only $700.

A new one is 950$ OTD, the one I'M looking at is the same model but 10 years old, it has brand new tire, so it's less than half but still used.

If I buy the new one I will lose much more when I resale it.

Trailers are a prime example of location affecting price. Around here a good 16' boat trailer new runs from $1100 to $1600 depending on the brand. Used trailers that aren't rusty, papers or not bring $850+ with those needing work still fetching $400 to $600.
I just sold a 1968 Highlander for a 16' boat that was painted over the galvanized frame, had all original bunks and rollers with no paperwork for $750, the guy was glad to get it. That size trailer is by far the most sought after.
In 2005 I bought a brand new Load Rite Bandit 16' bunk trailer to put under a small glass boat, the GVW is 1200lbs, that trailer sold for $1499 plus tax, and that was the cheapest I could find one within driving distance. That was for a 12" wheel, tubular frame trailer, model 16F1200W, I needed something new and ready to roll for a FL trip.
The same trailer now is even higher. I'd have to guess that even an off brand trailer that barely fits with 8" tires would be closer to or over $1,000 today, more by the time you add a tongue jack, spare, guide ons, etc.
