I decided to wax my boat today, so I did 3 coats of Meguiar's Premium Flagship Wax on the upper side and sides of the boat. I was wondering how often I should clean my hull. I usually only boat in clear / clean freshwater, but sometimes I spray it off when I get home just to get the water minerals off. The hull feels smooth to the touch, and I have inspected the underside recently for gelcoat cracks or scratches and found none. So, how often do you wax your wax or clean your hull?

I boat in saltwater only. Most days you could fill a salt shaker off the back of the transom from the dried on salt spray so a good, durable, coat of wax is essential in the overall maintenance of the boat.

I apply one coat of Collinite Fleetwax on the entire boat in the spring and follow up with a second coat about two weeks later and that is it for the entire season.

I use Woodie Wax on the non-skid and the metal work.

At the end of a trip I rinse off the boat using liberal amounts of freshwater and a soft boat brush. I use Orpine Wash and Wax to clean the fish boxes and live wells as well as any other general cleaning that may need done from time to time.

The Woodie wax gets reapplied to the deck and metal as needed which is typically 4 times a season.
