How on EARTH do I get this thing off?

Tilt ram cylinder cap/top thing. 1986 Mercury 75hp. I have a cheapo adjustable pin spanner wrench, but it’s not cutting it. Need to get these new seals and o-rings in there. Help!

That cap has been on there a long time. The threads can corrode pretty solid. A good spanner and a tap of the hammer may be required to break it loose.

You might see what a new one costs, in case of trouble.

Gotta buy some tools and use some labor or buy a new one...no easy way around it.

Get a good 4-pin spanner and a breaker bar

Use a heat gun and heat the end of the bore tube to about 300f
