Calling the Police on a 10 year old girl for miss behaving at school!! This incident admittedly is from the girl’s mother’s point of view as that’s all I have, but anyway.........The child in question is by no means a model student and has some disciplinary issues in the past. However when I heard the actions taken by the schools Principle in the latest incident it shocked and discussed me. The student was accompanied to school by her mother to address an ongoing issue. The mother requested the girl be omitted from the class field trip due to recent behavioral and performance problems at school. The Principal agreed, and the girl was informed she would not be allowed to accompany her class on the field trip. It was also agreed she would be removed from school for the day. The child refused to leave school and became obstinent (sp). The woman called her husband who immediately set off for the school. Before the father arrived, the mother and Principal escorted (carried) the child out to the woman’s car. But when the mother returned to the building to collect the girl’s things the girl left the car and re-entered the school. At this point the Principal called the Police to respond to the incident. Am I missing something here? Since when do the Police need to be called to handle a 10 year old child when one parent is on the seen and the other in on the way? FWIW the child never made it past the entrance hallway back into the school. Am I screwed up or do the actions of the Principal seem warranted here??

When it gets to the point that the Principal and the Mom would be jailed for child abuse if they did what was needed to get the brat under control it's time to call the cops.

Im thinking a bu T T busting wouldnt have helped that girl, and sounds like to me she was outa controll. But I guess I woul have had to be there to see what happened.

Well when i went to school the board of education was a Cricket Bat

that said right on it board of education

You put your hands on the wall and that was that and i can tell you it left bruises

That has become much to harsh for are current population but seemed to work very well

Not picking sides, but with all the school shootings that have went on by children, who knows, maybe she was trying to get back in to get her glock.:^

Not an uncommon occurance this side of the pond.
With all of the political corectness BS going on teachers have had thier hands tied behind thier backs when it comes to discipline and the kids know it. In a lot of cases it's the only option available for the schools.

I don't know about upstate SC or anywhere else in the US but here in Canton, MS you can can give school officials permission to tear up some hind ends with The Board of Education ! It only took one meeting with The Board Of Education for my youngun straighten up the err of his ways cause he always got it again when he got home !

No sheet ehenry, worked well back when I was in school as I so well remember! Back in the day there was no greater fear that that of parental punishment!! I never recall thinking my parents were any thing but that PARENTS, they provided for me, protected me, made me tow the line, and taught me acceptable behavior, (abet painfully at times). They we not my friends by any means. What was fear at a young age became respect love and gratitude as I got older. There is an old saying………………………….. At 18 I couldn’t figure out how my parents made it so far being so stupid……………….And at 21 I couldn’t figure out how they learned so much in 3 short years. ..............................I’m afraid the time out generation is in for a rude awakening……………

Well, I think we all see the problem. It is illegal to parent children. You have to raise them without parenting or you
a. lose them, or
b. go to the slammer.

I didn't have to use physical (corporal?) means on mine, but if the psychological approach had failed, at least I could have.

Reminds me of Churchill's comment that he admired how well Americans obeyed their children.

I was lucky with my kids thay were good sumwhat.

The story sounds like overkill on the principles part.

I think a heavy hand on some kids would be a good thing
and it would also help keep the not so bad inline when thay see the rotten kids get a good wack in the @$$

Since kids started coming to school and shooting up their classmates, and since parents stopped being parents.................

My 5th grade classroom was just down the hall a bit from the principals office. Each day we would hear that whacking noise of some child being spanked. That wasn't that long ago, because I'm only 27.

It kept me out of trouble, thats for sure.
