How shall I ground the tank

The tank has two grounds one is an earth ground the other is a negative for the tank sender.

The way it was wired before was a big wire was run to battery and every thing was wire wrapped into this negative wire.

I am planning on running a ground wire from tank sender to negative bus under dash. Shall I do the same with the earth ground or shall I just run it to the battery?

Re: How shall I ground the tank

I would connect the tank ground directly to the earth of the boat, ot in this case the battery. If there is any resistance or excess load on the bus, then the tank won't be properly grounded. I would think that ABYC would have regulations regarding this. In this instance the reason for the tank ground is to prevent explosion/fire fron static electricity build-up. You don't want any problems with this safety device. Also are you going to ground the bulkhead fitting for the fuel fill?
